I also question the step count. I purchased this to replace my Fitbit Blaze and old ASUS ZW2 which is dying and wanted 1-device to cover both of their functionality. Edit: Had to see if I was remembering correctly - I've had a Flex for the last year or so and it doesn't do stairs. I was, more or less.
