WebCase Discussion. Distal radial and ulnar fractures daily occur in A & E departments. Fractures of the carpal bones are less common with scaphoid fractures making up the majority, with triquetral fractures a distance second. Triqueteral fractures are typically only identified on the lateral film. Combined wrist and triquetral fractures are uncommon. WebThis study compares in normal subjects the variability of wrist x-ray film measurements between the right and left sides with the variability of the distribution of those measurements within the population. Additional purposes were to evaluate possible differences of these measurements according to sex, age, side, and hand dominance.
