Web31. dec 2011 · Hi Everyone, I'm new to the forum and have checked many of the threads, but can't find anything on this. I have a 2006 Charger R/T with the 5.7. I changed the spark plugs this week for the first time since new. All went well except for the fourth plug back from the front on the drivers side... Web3. nov 2014 · If all (or most) of the spark plug thread had stripped, the only remaining recourse would be to try a helicoil. which may or may not help. After that, you're looking at a new cylinder head. Good luck. I'd say try blasting it with PB or liquid wrench before you take it out, maybe that will limit the hurt. There is no special way to remove a plug other than turning it counterclockwise. 1/4 inch may be a problem, it's pretty small for the size of the bolt you're unscrewing. My guess is that it’s cross threaded and you’ll have to pull the head worst case scenario. The reason it's stuck is it's been in there for a while. Some how water got on the plug and rusted.
